Randy Watson

Executive Director

Randy is an interventional cardiologist at the Trillium Health Centre in Mississauga, Ontario, where he has directed clinical cardiology programs and cardiac catheterization labs, and worked extensively in developing regional systems to provide advanced emergency care for heart attack victims. He previously directed undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing medical education programs at the University of Toronto, and served as the chief cardiology examiner for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. In 2009 Randy travelled to Zimbabwe on a fact-finding mission that proved to be a life-changing journey. He was gripped by the tremendous deprivation and humbled by the faith, generosity, and resilience of the people he met. Randy is passionate about bringing health, hope and opportunity to the people of Zimbabwe through his work as Executive Director of Bopoma Villages. Contact Randy Watson

Ruth

Ruth Yavtucovich

Board Chair

Ruth is a veteran marketing executive with over 20 years’ experience in all aspects of brand management, corporate communications, and organizational management with Rogers Cable Systems, Microsoft Canada and the energy sector of the Ontario government. Her expertise includes strategic planning and tactical execution, traditional and digital marketing, event management, fundraising, website design, and social media. She is a seasoned advisor to executives on strategic, highly complex issues and challenges. Ruth has a passion for helping the marginalized and the poor who struggle for their very survival.

Natalie Watson

Managing Director

Natalie began her career as a lawyer practicing family law. She spent the latter years of her legal career working for the Ontario government as a policy advisor to the Attorney General, focusing on laws and programs affecting children and families. She retired in 2003 to devote her time to her family and serving her church and community. She homeschooled her children, taught Sunday school, led the Alpha course, and volunteered with Prison Fellowship Canada. Natalie’s heart was captured by the people and situations she encountered on her first trip to Zimbabwe in 2010. Since then, it has been her joy to commit her time and energy to meeting the needs of children and families in rural Zimbabwe through her role as Managing Director of Bopoma Villages’ Canadian operations. Natalie and her husband, Randy, live in Toronto and have two adult daughters, Leah and Lara. Contact Natalie Watson

Sundar

Sunder Krishnan

Board Member

Sunder is a respected Bible scholar, teacher, author and much sought after international conference speaker. Sunder grew up in New Delhi, India, where he graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology. He went on to receive a Master of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). After a career as a nuclear engineer with Atomic Energy of Canada, Sunder joined the pastoral staff of Rexdale Alliance Church where he served faithfully for 36 years prior to retiring. Sunder is deeply committed to supporting and equipping those who work with the poor around the world. Sunder and his wife, Shyamala, have been married since 1971. They have two grown children, Vijay and Sheila, and six grandchildren.

Andrey Timofeev

Treasurer

Andrey is a Chartered Professional Accountant who works in finance with the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board of Ontario (WSIB). He previously earned an MBA from the American Institute of Business and Economics in Moscow. Andrey has a background in helping not-for-profit organizations streamline their finances. He was drawn to the work of Bopoma Villages in 2013, and since then has dedicated his passion and skills to his role as the organization’s treasurer. Andrey and his wife, Milla, live in Toronto with their daughter, Alina, and sons, Matthew and Gabriel.
