Melania in her keyhole garden

Tara’s New Garden

Tara* smiles as she proudly shows us the bundle of kale she grew in her keyhole garden. “We used to have trouble finding vegetables to eat. I have 4 orphans under my care and as long as we keep working in this small garden, it will provide the nutrition we need. I have no stress, my grandchildren work in the garden and they are happy and healthy.”

Tara’s family used to rely on a diet consisting largely of sadza, a cornmeal porridge that provides calories, but lacks the nutrients essential to good health and disease prevention. Your generous donations have provided Tara with training in farming and nutrition, and the dignity of providing a healthier, brighter future for her family.
